Dana Shayegan

Dana Shayegan is a music, media, and technology executive specializing in marketing, advertising, and content monetization. He is a partner in the record label and artist services firm Monk Music, co-founded with Trinidadian Soca star Machel Montano. Shayegan has consistently worked with artists, record labels, and music companies, implementing strategies to increase brand awareness, audience size, and revenue. His efforts have generated tens of billions of content views, over US $100 Million in revenue, and hundreds of millions of online followers. Shayegan's work spans a wide variety of genres, including Caribbean, Electronic, Hip Hop, Pop, African, and World Music. His current and past clients include Caribbean stars such as Machel Montano, Tarik "Rvssian" Johnston, Buju Banton, Sean Paul, Kes, Conkarah; dance music
phenomenon Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records; No Copyright Sounds; ground-breaking YouTube cover artists Boyce Avenue; Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido; and many more.

Shayegan has been an early-stage employee in two startups in the media and music space. He was the tenth employee at the digital content studio and creator management firm Studio71 US (formerly Collective Digital Studio), where he began as the Director of Marketing Solutions before transitioning to the role of Vice President of Music. In this position, he managed a network of music-focused YouTube channels that drove over 1 billion views on the platform per month.

In 2018, Shayegan joined the Canadian startup Wavo.me, a leading data-driven marketing and analytics firm providing marketing and advertising solutions to major record labels and their subsidiaries. As Director of Influencer Marketing, he launched the company’s influencer marketing for music product, working with major record labels such as Warner Records, Sony, and Interscope to execute digital advertising and
influencer marketing campaigns for priority acts.

From 2016 to 2022, Shayegan served as a music editor in Digital Programming for iHeartRadio, curating and managing a network of 50 playlists for America’s #1 audio company.

Billboard Magazine recognized Shayegan as one of its “30 Under 30” music executives. He has also appeared as a speaker at conferences including South By Southwest (SXSW), Midem, Music Business Association (MusicBiz), and Digital Hollywood.
