Born in Upstate NY, Preece noticed the power of music at a very young age It was that very revelation that sparked his interest in music. Preece was exposed to various genres of music very young and learned to appreciate the talent within each creation. Dubbing himself "Selecta" which originates from the term "Selector" was Preece's way of separating himself as just another "DJ". Preece began djing in the late 90's spinning at various parties and venues in upstate NY over time Preece has displayed his talents in other cities as well, many times throughout NYC, Houston, Miami, Orlando. He has opened at major concerts for artists Gucci Mane, Jeezy, Fabolous, Rick Ross & Meek Mill, Waka Flocka, French Montana, Ginuwine, Tank, Carl Thomas, Bobby Valentino, Jagged Edge, as well as reggae artists Mr. Vegas, Sanchez, Tony Curtis, Ghost, RDX and Spragga Benz. He has graced every influential club in his native city, Rochester, NY and performed in other major cities across Western NY as well as Houston, Orlando and NYC
