Kevin “Jedi” Barton’s journey through the creative industries is marked by groundbreaking achievements and a relentless drive for innovation. His career began at Universal Music Group Canada, where he established the largest Urban Music department in the country and pioneered experiential marketing—a format that would become a blueprint for major corporations nationwide.

Following his transformative work at Universal Music Group Canada, Kevin took on the role of Head of Mobile Marketing for Cable & Wireless in the Caribbean. There, he redefined the marketing department and introduced a bold new content strategy. A highlight of his tenure was leading the execution of the company’s title sponsorship for the World Cup Cricket tournament, seamlessly integrating Cable & Wireless into one of the most celebrated international events.

Kevin’s dedication to his craft led him to formal training in film, where he quickly gained recognition as a skilled visual storyteller. As an Emmy-nominated and Peabody Award-winning filmmaker, he has built a reputation for producing compelling film and digital projects. An early adopter of short-form content, Kevin expanded his skill set to include User Experience and Design, forging a creative partnership with Bell Media to develop fresh, entertaining, on-the-go content for mobile audiences. His expertise in film and marketing enables him to craft strategic narratives for brands, making him a sought-after visionary in the industry.

Today, Kevin serves as a partner at Loft Entertainment and the Executive Producer of Departure, a reimagined festival and conference that celebrates creativity across diverse cultural verticals, including technology, comedy, music, and art. In his role, Kevin oversees the festival’s strategic and creative direction, shaping a platform that highlights innovative thought leaders, fosters collaboration, and amplifies groundbreaking artistic expressions.
