Lyriq Bent

Born in Kingston Jamaica and raised in Toronto, Lyriq Bent began acting after completing his studies at Seneca College. He broke out as Officer Daniel Rigg in the “Saw” franchise and went on to star as Staff Sergeant Frank Best in Rookie Blue. His acclaimed lead in “The Book of Negroes” earned him a Canadian Screen Award, showcasing his dramatic range. Recent
work includes Spike Lee’s “She’s Gotta Have It”, Tyler Perry’s “Acrimony”, Netflix’s
“Nappily Ever After”, Spectrum/BET’s “Long Slow Exhale”, and Sudz Southernland's "Home Again".
In 2022, he wasnominated for a Canadian Screen Award for “For the Record”. Just to mention a few.
