Nicholas Moyo

Mr Nicholas Moyo brings extensive experience in arts management spanning over 31 years. He was appointed Secretary for the Ministry of Sport, Arts and Culture in the Government of Zimbabwe in October 2023. He is a seasoned arts administrator having served as Executive Director of the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe for some years.

Over the years, Mr Moyo has led several projects in Zimbabwe as director, producer and administrator. He has also been instrumental in the establishment of many arts festivals in Zimbabwe.

Currently Mr. Moyo is championing the conversation for the industrialisation of the arts sector in Zimbabwe. He has led in the development of the National Music Strategy for Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwe Film Strategy. During his tenure at the Arts Council, he created strong synergies with other Arts Councils in the region, Zambia, Botswana, Seychelles and Namibia.

Mr. Moyo was a Board Member of the global body of Arts Councils, the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA). He currently serves as a member of the Advisory Board of Connect for Culture Africa (CfCA)
