Sosiessia Nixon-Kelly

Sosiessia Nixon-Kelly is an award-winning Jamaican screenwriter, director, and
producer. She is the first Jamaican filmmaker to have a locally produced film qualify for
an Oscar nomination and the first to win an African Oscar for a Jamaican film. Her
short film Raw Materials has earned 23 international awards. Her debut feature film,
Stew Peas, is set to premiere in June 2026.
She currently serves as Head of Film and Television at ikon Media & Films and is an
adjunct lecturer in scriptwriting and screenwriting at Northern Caribbean University.
