David Miller

With a career spanning more than two decades, David Miller has become one of the most respected and consistent executives in the US & global music business, playing an integral role in the success of some of the biggest international artists careers worldwide.
Beginning his career in London, UK as an event, club and party promoter, Miller carved a name for himself as the go-to man for the hottest and hippest event nights. As his events grew in popularity, he also began to attract the attention of media and music executives, leading to an exciting consulting role with Motown Records UK.
Helping to develop urban music campaigns from the grassroots, organising showcases, street teams and urban club/DJ promotions, spreading the word to the UK’s core urban media and tastemakers.
Miller then went on to consult for Andre Harrell’s Uptown Records/MCA/Universal Music working to build the UK & European profiles of urban music legends such as Jodeci, Mary J Blige, Soul for Real, Heavy D and Lost Boyz. Following that tenure he established a working relationship with the groundbreaking urban crossover label, Bad Boy, where he was employed as a consultant through Arista/BMG Records UK overseeing the lifestyle & core fanbase marketing for Notorious BIG, 112, Faith Evans, Ma$e, Total and Craig Mack.
His career continued to grow exponentially and in 1999, with urban music’s position solidified as the music of the day, he was employed directly by Sony/BMG UK to oversee the Urban Marketing at for the entire Bad Boy & J Records roster working artists like Usher, Busta Rhymes, Toni Braxton, Luther Vandross, Next and Pink to name a few.
In 2001, Miller was offered a position in New York, working with Mariah Carey at Maroon Entertainment, Carey’s management company and after he made the move from the UK to the US, he began to solidify his name on the other side of the Atlantic.
Def Jam was next, under industry stalwarts Lyor Cohen, Julie Greenwald and Kevin Liles and then under Jay-Z and LA Reid, Miller developed the global careers of Ludacris, Ne-Yo, Rihanna and Kanye West during his 4 year tenure, which was to become one of the most successful periods in the labels history. When the senior executive team moved over to run the Warner Music Group they took him with them, with Atlantic Records CEO Craig Kallman's blessing. As Vice President of International Marketing, he continued to work with some of the best urban acts of this generation, from Jay-Z, Trey Songz, Lupe Fiasco, Flo Rida, Bruno Mars, B.o.B., to Janelle Monáe and Wiz Khalifa.
In 2012, with a wealth of experience under his belt and Miller started his own company - Seven Grand Management – alongside his role at Atlantic Records. It is no surprise that SevenGrand’s acts courted keen interest from many major labels. 1009/RCA Records has signed Dillon Cooper, a young up-and-coming rapper from Crown Heights, Brooklyn, Epic Records was home to Curtis Fields, a singer/songwriter, Natalie La Rose was signed to Republic Records, Rudie Edwards signed to Atlantic Records UK.
Miller also manages a roster of talented songwriters and producers through SevenGrand as well as four or five other emerging acts. With an ear for new talent, an undeniable track record for developing/marketing the next generation of artists and a wide range of musical genres, Seven Grand’s roster comprises a diverse mix of urban and alternative acts, as well as talented business heads.
With the level of professionalism, knowledge and understanding of today’s music business that David Miller brings to the table, Seven Grand has become a force to be reckoned with.
